Daniel Negreanu banned from Twitch

A very NSFW tirade led to arguably the biggest name in poker getting banned from Twitch and he didn't win many fans in poker for it either.

Following a quite amusing blow up from the man himself, which came after a very worrying blow up from Mike Matusow, Daniel Negreanu genuinely lost his cool over the weekend and made threatening remarks to somebody he said insulted his wife in the Twitch chat. The video below is incredibly NSFW:

Negreanu has always been a polarising figure in poker but we've never really seen him this angry before. What followed was a lengthy Twitter debate in the poker community about his conduct. Some felt it was fair play to defend his wife and that Negreanu was only human, but the bigger weight of public opinion seems to think that this was behaviour unbefitting of a poker ambassador.

As is often the case, KidPoker was unapologetic and even a little boastful about the incident. As is also often the case, a Daniel Negreanu incident awoke an otherwise absent Doug Polk from poker video hibernation to satirise his arch nemesis:

Which led to an even more unapologetic response from Negreanu:

And if you want to go further, as you can imagine the rabbit hole goes much deeper.

Most of us have already made our mind up long ago about Daniel Negreanu's merits as an ambassador but the folks over at Twitch made their decision on Monday morning. His Twitch channel is banned at the time of writing, it doesn't take much imagination to guess why. Whether justified or not, threatening to kick somebodies teeth out and, everything else that came after, is almost certainly against Twitch's terms of service.

This is no small loss for Negreanu or his sponsor's GGPoker. His Twitch channel had over 75,000 followers and could command over 5,000 concurrent viewers. At the time of writing he remains able to stream on YouTube.
